Trailer Talk: MAY 2015 (Bollywood Edition)
Bollywood gets busy in May 2015, with some amazing movies. Some long awaited and some random WTF films are coming out this pre-summer season for Bollywood. Trailer Talk takes a look at all the trailers for Bollywood films this month. Take a look and be sure to let me know your favourite films of this month in the comments below!
GABBAR IS BACK (May 1st, 2015)
The entire concept of the title of this film is based on prior knowledge of a classic Bollywood movie. Without this knowledge, the title is meaningless and fails to invoke the sense of ‘fear’ that the trailer touts. The other filmy references don’t stop there seeing how there’s a ‘Spartacus‘ type of scene in the trailer as well. Getting a little sick of Akshay Kumar’s typically non sensical action films. Him and Ajay Devgan should just team up for the action masterpiece of the decade, then retire altogether!
SABKI BAJEGI BAND (May 1st, 2015)
Claiming itself to be a dramatized version of real life events, this movie is supposed to be re-enactment of what happened when Celebrities were caught on tape at a house party. But the way the film is shot, the characters seem to be addressing the cameras directly. This lack of sense and the most gratuitous use of the F-Bomb that I’ve ever seen, makes this quite possibly the tackiest film trailer from Bollywood that I’ve ever seen.
KUCH KUCH LOCHA HAI (May 8th, 2015)

I don’t understand the fascination that Bollywood has about storylines featuring perverted old men lusting after morally loose women; especially what about those kinds of situations are even supposed to be humorous or entertaining?!
PIKU (May 8th, 2015)
One of my favourite directors is at it again with another movie that seems like it’ll be a little gross, but then again he handled the topic of a semen donating hero with charm and likability. So I’m very excited for this one.
BOMBAY VELVET (May 15th, 2015)
Anurag Kashyap’s most expensive and star student film yet, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as an upcoming youngster getting pulled into the grimy criminal underbelly of 1960’s India?! Oh hell yes! With bits of nostalgia and what looks to be a whole lot of reckless action and amazingly well framed shots, this looks to be a huge blockbuster this year.
ISHQEDARRIYAAN (May 15th, 2015)

The big dude is Mithun Chakraborthy’s son, while the girl’s voice has been dubbed in this movie. That is a lot more than I want to know or care about this movie.
WELCOME TO KARACHI (May 21st, 2015)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb3WnG4HXc4
This is Bollywood’s version of 3rd rate American humour that stereotypes, generalizes and dumbs down anything that’s not understandable within their own realm. The way that Pakistan is depicted and the manner with which guns and boobs dominate the Trailer, completely turns me off to this.
TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS (May 22nd, 2015)
While the sequel to this highly enjoyable movie wasn’t an appealing prospect, the trailer won me over. It’s rare to see a sequel of a film do something different, and this is as different as it gets!
So that’s it for all the Bollywood films releasing in May 2015. Let me know which is your favourite in the comments.
