Trailer Talk: JUNE (2015)

Published by Shah Shahid on

Trailer Talk brings you a look at all the movies releasing in June 2015. We’ve got movies ranging from TV Series adaptations, long dead franchise sequels, original films and quirky ass comedies that seems to be smattered throughout the month. Take a look at all the movies for June 2015, and let me know which is your most awaited.

ENTOURAGE (June 5th, 2015)

Never followed the Series much, but the movie definitely looks interesting. Doesn’t seem like there’s much prior knowledge involved, however, obviously it’s a better experience if you’ve seen the show. Best part about this is that I like how Mark Wahlberg, the guy who the show is loosely based on, makes a cool meta appearance.

LOVE AND MERCY (June 5th, 2015)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen John Cusack in such a strong role in a couple of years now. While not outwardly interesting to me personally, the trailer sells a strong performance by both the leading men, and a mysterious reveal behind the character looks intense. If you’re a fan of Cusack, then this is definitely a must watch for you.

TESTAMENT OF YOUTH (June 5th, 2015)

Ho hum. ‘Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington tries his hand at some serious acting, and this just look incredulously boring as hell. It seems every month will have a victorian love story style film that releases. Taron Egerton from ‘The Kingsman’ is in this also in what looks like a small role.

POLICE STORY: LOCKDOWN (June 5th, 2015)

Ever wonder what a movie would look like if Jackie Chan dropped his silly comedic action for a more dramatic and brutal movie? Well this is it! Finally he superstar uses his skills to tell, what looks like an emotional story, and not just action fluff!

JURASSIC WORLD (June 12th, 2015)

Bigger. Better. And a whole lot badass. While the previous attempts at recreating Dinosaur magic failed, the new sequel seems to capitalize on a lot of the concepts from the original film. Goes without saying that this is a must watch for any fans of the original showcase of full fledged dinosaurs on screen!

Jurassic World opens 6/12. Don’t miss out and purchase your tickets on Fandango!

ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL (June 12th, 2015)

Wow. This movie looks like it’s going to be very self aware of the kind of story it’s trying to tell, but somewhere it gets a lot more complicated and I’m very interested in watching that unfold. Worth a look.

SET FIRE TO THE STARS (June 12th, 2015)

Elijah Wood returns, still looking like a 12 year old in this new bio-pic about a destructive poet that’s shot in all black and white. I’ll pass.

I AM HERE (June 12th, 2015)

I have no idea what this movie is supposed to be, but the trailer creeped me the hell out! The film flips from being a relationship drama, to some abstract fantasy flick to a crazy horror? I don’t get it, and I don’t want to. Do better Basinger!

INSIDE OUT (June 19th, 2015)

It’s Disney Pixar’s next ginormous movie and it looks absolutely hilarious. It remains to be seen if the entire movie will run on the gimmick of an inside look at the characters’ emotions, or if there will be an actual story. Given Pixar’s previous film, it’s safe to assume that this will be amazing.

Inside Out opens 6/19.Don’t get sold out and purchase your tickets today!

DOPE (June 19th, 2015)

This movie has to be the breakout comedy of the summer. This has all the making of an awesome movie with the 90’s nostalgia, hiphop influence and a main character that looks genuinely likeable! Looking forward to this one.

Dope opens June 12. Don’t get sold out and purchase your tickets today!

INFINITELY POLAR BEAR (June 19th, 2015)

Mark Ruffao continues to be one of the finest actors of his generation with a role that sure to tug at some heartstrings. This looks all kinds of sweet, demented and hilariously cringe worthy for all the right reasons. Definitely the quirky comedy of this month.

MANGLEHORN (June 19th, 2015)

Al Pacino continues to make weird old guy movies. While this may be emotionally effective, it comes off kinda creepy and disturbing. Although Pacino’s performance looks interesting.

THE OVERNIGHT (June 19th, 2015)

While pushing the boundaries of what’s effective, this trailer seems like it’ll delve into a weird sexy orgy thing the entire time, but instead provides some crazy good laughs. If the movie is similarly cut, then this could be a genuinely great comedy. Definitely worth a watch.

TED 2 (June 26th, 2015)

If you liked the original, then no question that you will love this one. It’s the same brand of Seth MacFarlane comedy, but bigger, bolder and more bad-ass…er.

Ted 2 opens 6/26. Don’t get sold out and purchase your tickets today!

MAX (June 26th, 2015)

This one brings the feels SO bad. If you’re a dog or animal lover, you will bawl your eyes out about this story of a war dog and how he adjusts to a new family after his Marine owner’s death. While feeling like a tearjerker, I’m sure this one will have enough genuine moments of major feels!

BIG GAME (June 26th, 2015)

Someone needs to tell Sam Jackson to chill. After a string of some pretty decent movies like ‘The Kingsman’, he goes and does this kinda crap that makes him the butt of jokes. Bah.

So that’s it for Trailer Talk for June 2015. Tell me which movie you’ll be watching in theatre’s this month.
