James Gandolfini Passes Away At Age 51

Published by Shah Shahid on

It’s been reported by Variety that James Gandolfini, best known for this role as Tony Soprano on the hit TV Show THE SOPRANOS, has died at the age of 51 in Italy. Apparently the actor died of a possible heart attack.

I was never too familiar with James Gandolfini’s career until THE SOPRANOS. Gandolfini had a depth about him that made the show what it was. So it was even better to go back and notice him in movies like GET SHORTY, where he’s the soft-spoken bad ass former stuntman turned bodyguard. It’s even more hilarious to see him in a movie like THE MEXICAN, playing a sensitive, gay and murderous hit man. I was a fan.

More recently Gandolfini could be seen in KILLING THEM SOFTLY, again with Brad Pitt, where he turned in a pretty decent performance of an assassin for hire, who’s lost his way. Despite how little I knew about the man and his work, he was incredibly talented, and he shall be missed.
